The $11.2M YMCA community center is in final design. A capital campaign is closing the remaining $1.6M gap to enable construction of a debt-free facility. Site work is complete, and construction is slated to begin in spring 2007; grand opening in summer 2008.
Eastern Lycoming YMCA
Our vision for the YMCA...
Based upon recent growth in eastern Lycoming county, a needs assesment detailed the requirements for the new 47,000sf YMCA community center, including a fitness center, swimming pool, gymnasium and running track.
Site plan
Sited on a 15-acre tract within the Generations Sports Complex in Muncy Township between Lycoming Mall Drive and Interstate 180, the new 47,000 square-foot YMCA community center will be an attractive, hightly-visible, state-of-the-art facility.
Lobby and wellness center
The large wellness center will contain a variety of cardiovascular equipment, as well as spaces for free weights, aerobics and a host of fitness program activities.
Elevated track
An elevated track will afford runners and walkers with views of the exterior complex, along with clear sitelines into the community center's gymnasium, natatorium, wellness center and entrance lobby.
Natatorium
The natatorium will include a large leisure pool with zero-depth entry and a water slide. Additionally, both a lap pool (for swimming lessons, interscholastic training and adult exercise) and a family locker room have been incorporated into the design.
